What's the fuss? | Louisville Boudoir Photographer | New Boudoir Photographer

Caution... the following images could be viewed as inappropriate for the work place or any other public place you may be in at this moment... but nothing deemed rated R or even PG13 in my opinion.

Being new to the Boudoir field I knew I wanted to get my foot in this part of the business because I am all about females embracing their imperfect perfections and loving themselves, but I never imagined how much FUN it would actually be. The satisfaction of a job well done (the part where I am patting myself on the back) is so much more emotional and just on a totally different level than anything else that I have been use to.Because I am a female so I have been in these critical shoes before but I have vowed to stop the judgments, stop the critical comments and emotional tearing apart of myself... I am on a positive train one that is about UPLIFTING my fellow female friends and strangers. Boudoir isn't for everyone but for some... it's an important part of self discovery.

Once the idea was stuck in my head I put a model call out on my personal facebook, I figured I'd rather have people I know be my guinea pigs! haha

Jenn responded to my model call and we set up our date and time, discussed the different looks she wanted to go for and the ones I wanted to try... then her husband threw in his thoughts as well! haha

Jenn AND her husband gave me full permission to post her photos of her session. I made sure to include this bit because I want women to know that everything will be kept confidential and fully private for regular boudoir sessions.

Jenn was amazing and we worked well over our scheduled time slot but she was doing such a great job and we were having so much fun, I wanted to keep going but hunger became an issue and before anyone got "HANGRY" I decided we had enough material.

Tip #1. both the client and model should EAT before the session!

So I work on the session and am looking at some GREAT images. I get so excited, I can't wait to show her so I post a little peek on facebook,
it was just a simple head shot... but it's a gorgeous one that I was pretty proud of.
<-- see

Jenn's husband comments on the photo "Thank you for giving her a glimpse of what I see in her everyday!"

OHHH my heart began to sing and I was like this is IT - I love this boudoir stuff!

Then Jenn comments on the same thread, "Amanda I'll never be able to thank you enough! This has been an amazing experience that I'll remember for a very long time!"

Yep that just happened... I was so excited to know that, one; they love the photos and two; I could be trusted to take some pretty intimate setting photos and rock it out like nobody's business! LOL

So I share this and get so excited and so moved by the whole experience just knowing that I have helped someone love themselves just a little bit more. I by no means feel like Jenn had any kind of self hate or body image issues, that is not the case but just like you (if your female) and me... every day that we look in the mirror and we see our body changing whether it is in a good or bad way, we females are so unbelievably hard on ourselves. Even those of us who are "happy" with our body don't really feel sexy on the daily and seeing yourself in this light... with this glow... yeah - it's changing!! I am so glad to be able to have a part in that! :D

enjoy the photos...

Big Changes | Louisville Children Photographer | Child Photography

Thinking back to when I started this thing with the THREE P's (a point and shoot, picmonkey and "passion")... back when it was just a hobby and I was still wild eyed, unconfident in my skill and totally new to this photographer gig:

Now, don't get me wrong; hear me out.

Back in the very beginning before there was an ALArms Photography facebook page there was about a year or so where I would take photos for 50 bucks, I half way felt bad for charging for my photography; one, because I loved it so much and wanted to give my friends something awesome, two, because I knew I wasn't "good enough" to charge for these kind of pictures. However, I was saving up my session fee money to purchase a real DSLR camera and it was a slow moving process but one that I was wholeheartedly willing to work for, like a second job. A blessing came and I was able to have a DSLR faster than Plan A was going to allow... thanks to Joe Wantland (my boss) I was able to kick start this venture for real!

During this new venture in my life I had a few "clients", more like friends that helped me along the way by letting me practice on them and their families, I am lucky enough to still call them friends today and am fortunate enough that a few of them stuck with me during my over editing overundercharging and crazy white balance issues of the past.

A lot of things have changed since 2009 in the real world and in MY world but one thing remains the same..

I am forever learning but I feel confident, worthy and of course always grateful for each and every one of my clients.Without YOU there would be no this. So thank you for that your continued support and trust in my abilities to capture the best you I can... I'm sure one day I will look back on 2015 and think, "gosh, you can tell I was still learning" but that is something I will always do especially in photography. I want to provide the best images of you and your little ones that I can. Growth can not happen without change so let the changes continue...

as the changes continue; 2016 is going to offer more than ever for ALArms Photography and YOU! Soon there will be a big announcement in regard to those changes so you will want to be on the list to receive those awesomesauce newsletters.

Now here are some images of a returning client who has stuck with me since the beginning.... enjoy!

NO H8 Campaign | Louisville Photographer

MISSION STATEMENT: The NOH8 Campaign is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.
On November 4, 2008 Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The defeat provoked a groundswell of initiative within the GLBT community at a grassroots level, with many new political and protest organizations being formed in response.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska( and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.
Five years since its inception, the NOH8 Campaign has grown to nearly 33,000 faces and continues to grow at an exponential rate. The campaign began with portraits of everyday Californians from all walks of life and soon rose to include politicians, military personnel, newlyweds, law enforcement, artists, celebrities, and many more.
While inspired by the passage of Prop 8, the scope of the NOH8Campaign has grown to stand against discrimination and bullying of all kinds. The message of 'No Hate' can be interpreted and applied broadly, and speaks to each person in their own way.
The NOH8 Campaign has received overwhelming support from around the world, and has appeared in various local and national news programs and publications. The images are widely used on various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to spread the message of equality.

Now that you know a little about the background of the NO H8 Campaign. Here are a few images of one of my 2016 Senior Models.
